PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. SUPER RARE '70's private pressing - a micro-pressed local issue that barely eeked out when noted to have been pressed in quantity of 300 pressings....
LAKOTA are of definite interest to collectors of obscure American underground rock of the seventies, containing the rural outlaw vibe in their self compositions highlighted by lots of (often great) guitar work...

The biggest problem in providing data on this band is there is simply no way to gain reliable information about the career of LAKOTA. From what little we've been able to unearth - LAKOTA were a duo formed by two Indians, W.J. Grimm (guitar and vocals) and J.J. Callahan (drums and vocals), and both - with the help of another guitar and a bassist recorded this hideously rare album - only around 300 copies have said to be pressed. The album largely and brightly enters an an amazing spectrum of the early '70s - filled with outlaw edged hippie rock tunes that bring to mind early '70s period Grateful Dead -sprinkled with the Allman Brothers ... As a matter of fact, the Lp hits the bulls-eye when talking the "American Beauty" Dead-Head era, and includes fine Jerry Garcia type guitar leads winding through well written and performed self compositions... The overall style is so sharp in contrast to the early Dead sound, you might swear these were rare outtakes from an unreleased 1970 era Grateful Dead Lp! Don't hold your breath for the next copy - for haven't seen another copy - like, ever! LAKOTA (PRELUDE), CLOUDS AND FEATHERS, ORDINARY GUY, WALKIN' IN THE RAIN, SIMPLE WAVE, JESSE FRANK AND CORY, SOMETIMES, MOTHER'S PRETTY SONG, IF I WANTED TO, J.W. CRIER, LAKOTA (EPILOGUE)
CONDITION: The Cover: The fragile color (light pastel) would easily get dirty or soiled being so light, this copy with only a 'touch' of shelf wear, "EX" (excellent) and clearly a collection worthy copy with no bends, no writing and no seam splits
The Vinyl: all clean and clear across both sides, top M- looks and plays real nice ... both private labels are clean
