SUPER RARE FULL SET OF 4 RONNIE SCOTT JAZZ CLUB ESQUIRE LPS. DEUCHAR FELDMAN ETC.
As you know these LPs never turn up, even less so together as a complete set. They represent pretty much the earliest British modern jazz LP recordings as they date from December 1952 (Volume 1) to August 1954 (Volume 4). I mention LP recordings here as Esquire releases until 32-001 (The Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club Vol 1) had been 7", 10", 78 rpms but these were the first 12" LP 33rpm releases. So the first actual LPs as we know them. INCREDIBLY EARLY AND INCREDIBLY SCARSE. Even more so in this condition.
You will see from the photos that these really are all in miraculous condition, all play exceptionally well with a minimum amount of surface noise (if any), considering they are all live LPs and date from the mid 1950s. No scratches, marks, all have been kept and loved and rarely played since the day they were pressed.
The first and original owner (who they were recently purchased from) loved them all and used period cotton / fabric tape to make sure that the fragile paper sleeves stayed intact as the heavy vinyl easily splits the thin paper sleeves. This was done in the 1950s, Volume 1 has some slight lifting of the tape on the spine edge (see photos), but this is really the only issue with the complete set. Truly incredible for a set that's pretty much 70 years old.
