FANTASTIC 4 X WHITE VINYL COLLECTORS GEM THIS AND ITS A BLOODY EXCELLENT COMP. AND ITS A FANTASTIC MIX ALSO. IF LIKE ME YOU'VE BEEN A FAN OF THE ESKIMO COMPS THEN THIS IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS

STILL SEALED

Producers of compilation CDs have become so adept at their trade that now no sound or era goes undocumented. Yet the professionalism and unimpeachable taste that marks compilations like New York Noise (dedicated to Gotham’s early-eighties “no wave” moment) is beginning to feel joylessly curatorial. So Belgian D.J. duo the Glimmer Twins’ compilation Serie Noire 2 sounds not just welcome but something like a tectonic shift. On the disc, the Glimmer Twins trace a sensibility—alternately bassy, druggy, and camp—through disparate eras like industrial, acid house, and New Wave. The pair make one astounding connection after another, from the metallic dub of Public Image Ltd. to the Muzak-y, department-store pop of German rockers Rheingold. Where fellow Belgians 2 Many DJs mocked po’-faced D.J. culture with garish mixes of Michael Jackson and Daft Punk, the Glimmer Twins thread their needle through seemingly impossible-to-reconcile material. It’s a secret history of pop that only the savviest historian could write.

HERES THE DEAL:

I just don’t have the time to be as nerdy about records as I’d like to be, but i try to avoid the crazy waffle that unfortunately some sellers feel the need to spout, so if you’ve any questions just mail me and I’ll answer to the best of what’s left of my abilities. I’m all too aware of the pressures of modern life and I will do deals, wait for money, take payment in yak loin etc, but I would ask that you don’t yank my plank. If you really want a record or item then we can work something out no sweat. Just don’t waste my time with bids you have no intention of honouring. As I may search you out and make you listen to the Max Bygraves Christmas Album til you think it’s actually not that bad.

Grading (always conservative) is as follows:

Mint (M) Never played, possibly still sealed (SS).

Near Mint (NM or M-) Nearly perfect, no obvious signs of wear. No creases, folds, seam splits, or cut-out (co) holes.

Very Good Plus (VG+, or Excellent) Will show signs it was played, but taken good care of. May have slight scuffs or light scratches that don't affect play. Slight warps, not affecting play (nap) are permissible. LP jackets may have signs of slight wear and a cut out hole. If not for a couple minor things wrong, it would be Near Mint.

Very Good (VG) Surface noise may be evident, but NOT overwhelming. Groove wear may be noticeable, as will light scratches that will affect the sound. Cover may have writing, tape, or stickers attached.

PAYMENT INFO:

I accept in order of preference Sterling/Euros/US$/Personal Cheque (UK Only) & PAYPAL. I’m a flexible friend and will consider most propositions regarding payment.
