PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! PRIDE is a 1970 Westcoast Psych Lp with spanish influences. If you like Love´s "Forever Changes" it may appeal to you. The hard to find album was recorded by the Electric Prunes arranger who did "Release of an Oath" and "Mass in F Minor"

A lost treasure from David Axelrod – an obscure 1970 rock project, and one that's almost even hipper than his work with the Electric Prunes! The style here is rock, but the sound is very much in an Axelrod mode – quite spacious, and with this wonderful undercurrent of funk – bubbling up beautifully from the drums, and given plenty of room between the guitars in the mix, which appear to be both electric and acoustic. There's some slight Latinesque tinges in the guitar – very much in keeping with the barrio image on the cover – and the whole album's got a really poetic feel, with lightly flowing lines that almost remind us a bit of Tim Buckley at points, but with a definite Axlerod twist.The album has some vocals but is still filled with David's trademark arrangements (guitars/drums/bass/ harpsichord strings, etc) and some beautiful psychedelic arrangements throughout.
The Electric Prunes albums are well known, but the Pride album is equally great -- a spare, airy album co-penned with MT Axelrod, Davids son. Featuring Spanish guitar, vibes, and other sweet instrumental elements amidst the vocals -- all set to gently jagged grooved rhythms that echo some of Axelrod's best work at Capitol. Pride highlights include "Proud Sorrow", "A Hope", "The Death Of Juan Diaz", "The Truth","In The Wilderness","Worthless Pleasures","Returning Home", and "Song Of The Pirate"...
