Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. ULTRA RARE TMOQ 1971 FIRST PRESSING!
JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE
SMASHING AMPS
TRADE MARK OF QUALITY
NOTE: there is a BONUS "rare" underground (live & unreleased) (LP) album included (see info below), making this a TWO LP SET ... but the main attraction as follows:
SUPER SUPER RARE and collectibly sought after = it's the infamous TMOQ first press on PURPLE VINYL of the rousing underground classic SMASHING AMPS by Jimi Hendrix and his fabulous "EXPERIENCE" !
The release was by the legendary Trademark of Quality label of Southern California, known for its high production standards, perfectionism, and commitment to quality. TMOQ used only virgin vinyl for its product line...
Original first pressing from many moons ago...
At The Royal Albert Hall, February 24, 1969
THE PERFORMERS: Jimi Hendrix (guitar, vocals) / Noel Redding (bass) / Mitch Mitchell (drums) / Dave Mason (guitar) / Chris Wood (flute) / Kwasi 'Rocky' Dzidzournu (bongos)
The performance at the Royal Albert Hall lasted about 45 minutes but was absolutely overwhelming anyway because it was so fresh, spontaneous and innovative. By 1969 the initial coherence and joy of playing together had dwindled to a noticable degree in the "Experience." It was in part due to personal problems between Jimi and bassist Noel Redding (whose musical tastes were never fully in harmony with Jimi's but more limited to typical 60's Brit Pop). The main problem however was the way the management handled the Experience and forced them to constant touring while Jimi wanted to devote more time to creating new music in the studio and by getting new inspiration through jamming with other musicians from different backgrounds. So his frustration grew and the drug use along with it. That frustration was evident in many live performances from early 1969 onwards. However this performance at the Royal Albert Hall was clearly one of the better - maybe one of the best shows - of 1969. Jimi's playing had developed a lot since the start of the Experience and his singing too was very strong and confident in this show. This show was highlighted by an unusual quantity of high class blues performances, including a stellar version of "Bleeding Heart" never filmed anywhere else, great versions of "Red House" and "Hear My Train A'Comin'", a fine lyrical "Little Wing", great psychedelic rock songs, especially "I Don't Live Today" and "Voodoo Child S.R." and a successful jam with parts of Traffic (especially Chris Wood on flute) on "Room Full Of Mirrors", also not filmed anywhere else. So this is a successful and important Hendrix show.

SIDE II

- Bleeding Heart
CONDITION:
The Cover: In thick cardboard cover, the fragile light blue color is almost always found with dirt and soil ... this copy has been well preserved being "EX" (excellent) wih no split seams, no bends, no writing
The vinyl: both sides are glossy, is VG++ due to 2 or three light short hairlines = plays completely though and vastly clean with only a bit of light surface, normal for this LP = still enjoyable and is extemely rare having sold for 3-figure amounts... Both PIG logo labels are nice and minty clean!
*** the bonus LP is something of a mystery, but we found it with the TMOQ rarity (wasn't originally issued with, but passing it along just as found...)
contains unreleased material ... the pressing from well over 40 years ago:
"Freedom"
"ll Along The Watchtower"
"In The Storm"
"Power To Love"
"Midnight Lightning"
"Foxey Lady"
"Lover"
(The condition of this platter is M- CLEAN)
A GREAT ADDITION TO ANYONE'S COLLECTION !
