SUPER RARE TEJANO LP LA MAFIA & MAZZ ON CBS 1986 WOW

Up for auction is an extremely rare LP by BOTH La Mafia and Grupo Mazz on the CBS Records label, #DRL-10416, recorded in 1986...this was a monster find!  At first I couldn't believe what I was looking at, because as a huge "early" La Mafia and Grupo Mazz fan and collector, I had never seen this LP.  So I bought it and began my research on the worlwide Internet, and I couldn't find anything on it.  I checked the La Mafia website, and there was no mention of it in the Discography section, and I searched on google.com to try to find it under Grupo Mazz...NOTHING!

What I do know is that in 1985 the major record labels got wind of the rising popularity of Tejano music, and the big daddy of them all, CBS International, made a huge statement by signing both La Mafia and Grupo Mazz to long term recording contracts in 1986.  In order to take advantage of the hugh popularity of La Mafia, and the skyrocketing popularity of Grupo Mazz, the record executives made a decision to parlay the popularity of both groups by recording this album.  So this awesome LP was CBS' entry into the Tejano Music genre with these two legendary Tejano groups, and it is one of the rarest Tejano LP's because so few were ever distributed...this LP is a must have for your important Tejano Music Collection.

The best part of this LP is the selection of songs, as the songs by La Mafia are "old school' Tejano, when the group was popular for playing "polkas" (before they ventured into the "cumbia" phase of their career), and there are even a few songs with an accordion...and the horn section is killer!  And what can I say about Joe Lopez and Grupo Mazz, but to say that Grupo Mazz has its own unique sound that took the Tejano music industry by storm!

The cover receives a grade of VG+, with only a few creases in the lower right of the front and the usual slightly folded corners, and because of the upper left part of the back where the shine has rubbed off.  Take a look at the awesome graphics...the major record labels knew how to package an LP, and they did it with class.  The colors on the front and the back are very vivid and the images are very clear.  The labels receive a grade of NM-, as they are very clean.  The vinyl receives a grade of VG+, with the usual rubs, and only a few minor surface scratches...a very clean record on both A and B sides.  The sound receives a grade of VG+, as the entire LP is crystal clear, and the only background noise I hear is at the intro of OTRA VEZ where Jimmy Gonzalez is telling Joe Lopez to wake up, but as soon as the band starts playing it's smooth sailing, and all you hear are the classic arrangements by Jimmy and Joe's incredibly beautiful voice.  I offer a "no questions asked" money back guarantee, so know that your investment is protected.  I only accept PayPal, and immediate payment is requested.  Thanks for your interest!
