Here is a hard to find album from my collection offered up for sale: A RARE 1958 PROMO pressing of Buddy Holly "That'll Be The Day", released in 1958 by Decca Records, DL 8707 (mono), this is an original first pressing on rigid vinyl with pink promotional labels, is SUPERB condition, WOW!! Great songs including some rare gems like the first recorded version of "That'll Be The Day" (not the more common "Hit" version), "Blue Days", "I'm Changing All Those Changes" and MORE!!
The record grades EX/NEAR MINT, is super clean and super glossy, side one is pristine and rates NEAR MINT, side two has some light marks, rates EX, looks minimally played! This vinyl has been PLAY TESTED and plays great from start to finish with excellent sound quality, a couple light pops on side two, otherwise clear and quiet! The deep pink labels are bright and clean, has only one spindle mark! The stamped matrix reads MG6148T1 and MG6149T2. The cover rates EX, clean and bright portrait of Buddy with no ring wear, edges and corners have minimal wear and are solid, top seam had partial split at opening neatly glued, binder has a few small splits to paper but is intact and still mostly readable (see photo), no signatures or writing, back only has a couple tiny spot stains, minimal age discoloration, has been a VERY well cared for 57 year old cover! (see all photos) Still has the original baggie inner sleeve! One of the "holy grail" records and a must for any serious record collector.
