Description

The Beatles
Yellow Submarine
MONO
PMC 7070
**RARE 1st Pressing with NO credit to cover**
(another from my personal collection) ALL COMPLETE & ORIGINAL

Roll up, roll up all ye Beatles fans....

This was The Beatles' eleventh official album release and interestingly enough, the first album of theirs to included non-Beatles material. Released, after a delay, in mid January 1969, the album made it up the UK charts to the 3rd position....With The Beatles' 'White' album denying it the top slot.
There were only modest sales-in comparison with other Beatles releases-as the sales were around 800,000 within the first three months, but it did go over the 1 million sales mark by the end of the year. This could have had something to do with the album having only four original tracks and the rest was George Martin's film score.

As a little bit of interesting trivia: Did you know the orchestral pieces from side 2 of this album were used in the NASA Apollo 9 mission films..?

So, here are the details of this album up for auction:

Catalogue number: PMC 7070

Matrix Numbers side 1: XEX 715-1
Matrix Numbers side 2: XEX 716-1
As you can see...It's the very first pressing...NOW LOOK AT THESE MOTHERS/STAMPERS:

Mothers/Stampers side 1: 3/L
Mothers/Stampers side 2: 1/O
LOVELY EARLY PRESSING HERE!!!!

Vinyl:
QUALITY 149g HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL
VG(+)

There are some very light marks to this glorious heavyweight slab of vinyl, but all but one creates nothing to ruin any enjoyment of listening to her...That one little problem is a stick in the middle of the last track on side 1-but I cannot find the offending mark, so maybe a slightly heavier stylus than mine will play over this..I don't know. This is why I gave her a VG(+) grading, rather than an EX.
After giving her a gentle professional vacuum clean, I have just played her all the way through and found a simply superb deep and rich sound reproduction.
Barely even ANY background noise (4 little light pops at the start of track 1, side 1) through either side-even side 2 which is notoriously unfogiveable to any background noise due to the instrumentals...BUT this copy is the absolute exception as all I could hear was the music intended to be heard :)
Flat, heavy, all original and in glorious MONO!

Lables:
EX+!

She has the all important statement "Sold in the U.K...." showing it is a first press as well as "Mfd. in U.K."...If you needed any more convincing other than those
 LOVELY EARLY MOTHERS/STAMPERS.
Nice dark apple, rather than the later lighter ones.
Only light spindle marks, which are only visible when angled towards the light.

THIS VINYL REPRESENTS EXACTLY HOW THE BEATLES WANTED YOU TO  HEAR THIS ICONIC ALBUM.
Very displayable...Very playable ;-)
GORGEOUS

Cover:
EX-.
It is the original cover: The VERY 1st printing cover-WITHOUT THE GARROD AND LOFTHOUSE STATEMENT TO THE FLIPBACK.

(Most you see have the Garrod & Lofthouse statement to the back)
Also:
Has the two red lines above and below the text to the back. The back card has some slight discolouration as can be seen in the detailed images provided.
The flipbacks are in wonderfully strong condition, with the lovely rounded edges, with some very light discolouration.
The cover is the early cream cover, rather than the next printing of more white and darker grey for the 'hill' on which The Beatles are standing.
Only very light knocks/rubbing to the corners.
There are 5 or 6 small crescents/lines of spidering to the laminate, with some tiny fingers of spidering eminating from the seams.
Excellently strong LEGIBLE spine.

Please see the detailed photo's for yourselves and read my feedback for happy customers and fair gradings.

Inner:
EX!

It is the original black die-cut inner with the window to one side.
It is in surprisingly SUPERB condition!
It has just a 2 cm little cut from the window and only a little feathering.
It really has survived incredibly well as I rarely see these ORIGINAL BLACK INNERS in such good condition.

All in all it is a VERY rare, VERY early pressing of a wonderful album.
ALL COMPLETE & ORIGINAL
She is one heck of a rare beauty!!!
SAD TO SEE HER GO.....
