Selling some of my precious vinyl collection to fund some other musical ventures.
Up for auction is a nice copy of Supertramp's Crime of the Century LP. This is an Ultra High Quality Record that was pressed in Japan on 200 grams of High Definition Super Vinyl in May of 1981. It is number 993 out of a total of 5000 pressed.
As you can see in the photos, the box is not in great shape. It shows quite a bit of shelf wear. One corner has come apart, but the box is still solid.
The inner sleeve has a split top and bottom as seen in the photos.
The certificate of authenticity and technical data sheet are in Excellent to Near Mint condition.
The vinyl itself is conservatively graded as Very Good Plus. It is not perfect, so those seeking perfection should look elsewhere. There are no scratches on the vinyl but there are some very very faint hairlines on each side of the record. There are some pops and/or ticks on the record, but there are no skips. Still a very enjoyable listen.
I find this pressing to be the most detailed version out there. I have owned and listened to many different pressings of this title, and still come back to this UHQR as a reference point to judge all the others.
Record has been cleaned on a VPI record cleaning machine, with Disc Doctor Miracle record cleaner, then rinsed with distilled water. Then cleaned with LAST Extra Strength record cleaner then finally treated with LAST record preservative. The record now lives in a brand new Quality Record Pressings (QRP) anti-static record sleeve. I will also include an outer sleeve to protect the box from any more shelf wear.

I know how to pack records securely, so there should be no more split seams...
