MOTOWN COLLECTORS - ORIGINAL PICTURE SLEEVE ISSUES - ALWAYS HARD TO COME BY.
Here's a stunning original 1968 USA first issue copy with the elusive picture sleeve of this great pairing from DIANA ROSS & THE SUPREMES and THE TEMPTATIONS with the classic "I'M GONNA MAKE YOU LOVE ME" and backed with "A PLACE IN THE SUN" on the US MOTOWN imprint # 1137.
Pricing has always been partly determined by the condition of the sleeve rather than the record itself and finding a copy with a decent matching picture sleeve has always been a challenge as many have become soiled and dog-eared over time with heavy creasing, rips, written annotations, price stickers, coffee staining as well as the inevitable deletion drill hole and ring wear. On a scale of 1 through 10 with "ten" being mint, I would rate this sleeve as "9.5" with little in the way of ring wear and with minimal creasing and just a small rip on the opening edge and without any written annotations with just a little bit of foxing preventing perfection.
The disc itself plays superbly throughout with top audible quality and remains in mint minus condition with minimal crackle on the run-in and run-out groove and light surface sleeve rubs. The labels are very clean on both sides and not spoiled by a deletion drill hole and with little in the way of ring wear making this a top copy of this rare combination for the DJ or collector (see picture scans).

The record will be shipped in a stiffened card outer by Royal Mail Large Letter First Class "Signed For" service only in the UK at a cost of £3.25 or, overseas by "Signed For" service at the costs indicated. This provides protection for both parties in the unlikely event of loss. After 4 years of holding my shipping costs and absorbing the annual Royal Mail price increase, following the latest 20p domestic increase effective from 25th March 2019, I reluctantly need to increase the amount charged to cover my costs.
