Description

Suzanne Gyr ( - Vautrin ), born in Lorraine / France, June 8, 1899, died in Geneva / Switzerland, March 3, 1974; entered 1930 Cortot's class at the Ecole Normale in Paris and studied piano with him for five years. At the same time she took courses of history and harmony with Nadia Boulanger. Recitals in France, at Nancy, Epinal and Paris. Then war broke out and she settled to Geneva in Switzerland and married Edouard Gyr, violinist and a member of the Orchestre Romand. She gave many recitals and concerts in Switzerland and recorded abouth 35 records for HMV.

2 records 12" HMV DB 10057-58: Schumann, Kinderszenen op. 15, matrices OZA 1154-57, recorded in Zürich, 1944. Condition: 2-3 / 2, sticker on label
