Limited vinyl release of rare film and television music by Sven Libaek, presented here by Trunk Records!

A wonderful opportunity to own this rare recording of music from the 1970 film, 'The Set', the 1966 surf movie, 'To Ride A White Horse',

the 1965 Australian nature series, 'Nature Walkabout', and Val and Ron Taylor's 1974 underwater tv series, 'Inner Space'!

Most of Libaek's recordings involve the pick of Australian jazz musicians and nearly all of them use the same line up:

Don Burrows (flutes, clarinet), John Sangster (vibes, timps), Col Nolan (organ), Derek Fairbrass (drums). Sven Libaek plays piano.

Born in Norway, Sven trained both as a musician and an actor and appeared in a film by Louis de Rochemont called 'Windjammer'.

He was able to combine his love for both music and acting when his appearance as a soloist with Arthur Fielder and the Boston Pops

in a performance of the Grieg Piano Concerto became a major segment in the production. He formed a group called 'The Windjammers'

to promote the film who recorded an album with RCA and toured across the US. When the group split up, Sven and his wife moved to

Australia where he held the position of Musical Director and A&R Manager for CBS Records, as well as General Manager for April Music

Publishing Company in Sydney. During his four years there, he produced over 200 singles and albums featuring Australian artists. He left

CBS to freelance as a composer, arranger, conductor and to start his own music production company. He has scored many Australian

fims and tv series, including: 'Boney', 'Nature Walkabout', 'Nickel Queen', 'The Set', 'Lady And The Law', 'Murcheson Creek', 'Big Country',

'Inner Space', 'The World Around Us', 'Joe Wilson', 'The Settlement', and worked with Maurice Jarre as musical co-ordinator and orchestrator

for Peter Weir's film, 'The Year Of Living Dangerously'.

Sleeve: Great shark image from Inner Space on the front and extensive notes from Jonny Trunk on the reverse.

Sleeve is unmarked and undamaged, still in the original shrinkwrap which is split along the open edge.

Inner Sleeve: Plain, white paper, slightly shaped. Undamaged and unmarked!

Side One: The Set - 1. Start Growing Up Now (vocal), 2. Start Growing Up Now (instrumental), Inner Space - 3. Music For Eels,

4. Dark World, 5. Sounds Of The Deep, 6. Thatcherie

Side Two: Nature Walkabout - 1. Main Theme*, 2. Desert, 3. Peaceful Landscape, 4. Birds In Flight,

To Ride A White Horse - 5. In The Wave, 6. The Lost City, 7. White Limestone Blues, 8. Bush Fire, 9. Surfing Through The Birds

*The label states that Nature Walkabout - Main Theme is the last track (#7) on Side One, but there are only 6 bands.

Similarly, the label states there are only 8 tracks on Side Two, when 9 are clearly evident. This may account for the odd

numbering on the sleeve for the first track on Side Two!
