Ok so this is a ridiculous rarity that it took me years to achieve so takes some explaining. Got this record in like '90 from the radio station I worked at since we received the gold stamped promo for our station and I was already a SWANS fan. Have kept it as pristine as possible ever since...only actually played a few times even. BUT...I made it a mission to get Michael Gira, Jarboe AND Norman Westberg to sign it...and all with silver ink pen! Got Jarboe to sign it while touring for Sacrificial cake in San Franciso, then Gira in '09 at a solo show at the Doug Fir in Portland, and FINALLY (!) Norman at the show in Salt Lake City on the To Be Kind tour last year (actually had to buy multiple silver pens since they kept drying out!).

This was really a labor of love, since, while Jarboe had no problem back in '96, Michael told me he wasn't thrilled about signing it...but despite his demeanor (if you've met him) there's a heart of gold underneath that exterior. But when I finally got it into Norman's hand's last year he seemed kind of pleased and even chuckled that I was so dedicated to get the signatures all in the same pen, and was happy to sign it (and also commented "I guarantee you're the only person on earth with a copy like this!").

So after (literally) over 20 years I managed to achieve it...yet unfortunately I just came into a very serious life problem with my wife's health and so my most precious items are being sold to pay off medical bills due to the US's ridiculous health system. As a result, sadly, my loss is your gain.

The condition of the record is pristine, easily NM since it's only ever been played a couple times. The interior sleeve, which is black and had lyrics printed in white text on both sides, is about an EX+. It shows show light wear to one seam, and what you might call "ring wear", though it's not actually "wear" at all...no fading of the black or anything. It's more just that's it's "pressed" a little from being in the sleeve....which is about what you could expect even from a new record since it's just a paper sleeve. The main outer sleeve I would grade as a VG+ solely because of a slight hint of ring wear in one spot, and the beginning of a seam split on the spine.

So in the end, while this record isn't "Mint", and yes, I'm aware there's a "reissue" (totally against the band's wishes btw), it is a 1st edition not only in excellent visual and listening condition, it's SIGNED by Gira, Jarboe, and Westberg! Thus it's truly a one-of-a-kind collectors item that nobody else will ever have or be able to replicate.
