SWEET
DESOLATION BOULEVARD
RCA LPLI 5080
RARE U.K. TEST PRESSING!
A rare opportunity to bid for a very scarce vinyl test pressing of Sweet's third album which includes the hit, 'Fox On The Run',
and the band's covers of Elmer Bernstein's 'Man With The Golden Arm' and Pete Townend's 'My Generation'!
Sleeve: Gatefold sleeve with wrap-round image of a US street scene and head-and-shoulders shots of the band superimposed on top.
Some light marks, general wear (especially at the lower edge and corners), a couple of small stains (tea/coffee?) and overall age-related
discolouration. Rear corner edge by the spine is worn through to the base card and there is surface loss, to some degree, at all bottom edge
corners. There is some surface loss along the top edges and spine, but to a lesser extent. All four sleeve faces are intact with no repairs or
notations, but some ring marks are evident on the two, black, inside faces which have a montage of photos of the band in the studio.
Inner Sleeve: White, slightly faded, poly-lined, die-cut paper. It is intact with some wrinkles, a couple of small brown stains (tea/coffee?)
and a line of blue ink on one side. The name 'J BURTON' is written in dark blue ink and underlined in one corner on the opposite side,
together with the word 'Sweet' in an adjacent corner. Under the name on this side are four lines of text written in pencil which end with
what looks like an old 'phone number - Redhill 65833!
Vinyl: Clean and bright with no major visible faults. There are probably some light surface marks, as might be expected on a record which is
39 years old, but I struggled to find (m)any, even with a torch! Playback is clear and crisp, with no major audio issues at normal volume.
Labels: Both are intact with no spindle marks, that I can see! There are only one or two very light marks. The catalogue number is written
on a white sticker stuck on the RCA label on Side A.
Matrix Codes: Side A - LPLI - 5080 - A - I AI B
Side B - LPLI - 5080 - B - I AI A
Side A: 1. The Six Teens (Nicky Chinn, Mike Chapman), 2. Solid Gold Brass (Brian Connolly, Steve Priest, Mick Tucker, Andy Scott),
3. Turn It Down (Nicky Chinn, Mike Chapman), 4. Medussa (Andy Scott), 5. Lady Starlight (Andy Scott)
Side B: 1. Man With The Golden Arm (Elmer Bernstein, Sylvia Fine), 2. Fox On The Run (Brian Connolly, Steve Priest, Mick Tucker, Andy Scott),

This is just one item from my own extensive and eclectic personal collection of music and related bits and pieces which I will be listing over the next few months, or so.
I have been collecting for more than 30 years, so check back regularly to see what other gems I may have unearthed - they won't be listed in any particular order! My
recent absence from eBay has been because of work commitments but, as they seem to have dried up, I will be spending more time disposing of my collection!
I am not a dealer, so won't use traditional grading terms but, instead, will describe each item as carefully and honestly as I can with text and photos. Bidders are then free
to form their own opinions. Any apparent marks showing in the photos are reflections or dust, etc., unless otherwise specifically identified. If in doubt, please contact me
with any queries before bidding and I will get back to you promptly with an answer. I will also keep you informed throughout the whole ebay process.
All vinyl will be packaged in sturdy cardboard mailers with at least one stiffener and will be despatched within 2 working days of payment being received. PayPal is preferred,
but please contact me before bidding to discuss alternative, acceptable methods. Postage rates: UK - 2nd Class £2.60, Europe/R.O.T.W - AirMail Small Packet £6.50/£11.40.
Please note that I do not combine postage. All items are packaged and sent individually, so as to minimise damage and/or loss.
Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding!
