Description

Very nice condition copy of this 1958 release on Decca Records (SXL 2021) with the original Wide Band and grooved label and "Original Recording by..." rim text (ED1).   Jean Martinon conducts The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in performances of Meyerbeer's "Les Patineurs" ballet music (arr. Lambert) and Massenet's "Le Cid" ballet music.

Condition is Very fine.  The sleeve (which is the original "blue-back" design) is clean and glossy with no tears, creases or seam splits.  The corners are very slightly worn and there is a tiny "nick" about two thirds of the way up the spine. 

The playing surfaces are visually in excellent condition with no serious scratches or abrasions.  Side 1 has three distinct tiny hairline scratches towards the end which cause a few little ticks.  Playback on the whole is quite quiet with a low level of surface noise and no big pops, clicks or crackles and no jumps or skips.  The sound quality is (to my ears) extraordinarily spacious and realistic.
