Description
Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade on Decca records, a rare UK ED1 first pressing with the following features:
- Wide band Decca logo on the labels, with a deep groove.
- 'Original Recording By' at the 10 o'clock position on the labels.
- Flip back cover with blue borders on the rear.
The matrix numbers are:
- A-side runout, stamped: ZAL 2369-2E
- B-side runout, stamped: ZAL 2370-2E
Condition
Grading is based on the Goldmine grading system, using a visual assessment under strong light and an audio assessment. I grade my records realistically and conservatively, as I do not want to disappoint! Please see my feedback!
- The record grades as very good plus (VG+).There are a few light surface marks, almost certainly just sleeve scuffs, which are not feelable. The audio is powerful and punchy, as you would expect from this recording! There is an occasional crackle, but the record plays for long periods as NM.
- The sleeve is in very good (VG) condition. Overall, this is a very nice sleeve. The rear, with the blue borders, is pretty much perfect (NM), amazingly clean and with strong, undamaged flip backs. The front grades as VG because it has a tear on the opening edge and a little delimitation along the same edge. There is also the remains of a small sticker in the top right corner. I suspect that this is recent damage as the record has clearly been very well looked after.
- Cleaned on an Okki Nokki record cleaning machine and placed in an new anti-statiuc inner. Original inner also included.
- Posted in a 450 gauge protective sleeve and a strong Defendapack Vinyl Max record mailer. records removed from sleeve to prevent splits.
Delivery
Records are securely packaged in a strong Defendapack record mailer, and UK postage includes signed for delivery and insurance. Records are removed from the sleeve before packing to prevent splits.
I also offer local pick up in the East Sussex area.
