Description
Decca SXL 2087-90 4LP set Wide band ED1 Le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro) conducted by Erich Kleiber with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The four vinyl discs are in excellent clean condition, here is a condition report on each of them.
SXL 2087 (ZAL-2728 5E) Side 1 - Vinyl excellent however there are two surface marks and a small scuff on band 1(picture shows) I do not think they will affect play but I am unable to test myself. / Side 8 (ZAL - 2735 4K) Vinyl mark free, light spindle wear around hole of label.
SXL 2088 (ZAL - 2729 4F) Side 2 - vinyl excellent, label has spindle wear and label has lost a little of the print. / Side 7 (ZAL-2734 4F) this side all good.
SXL 2089 (ZAL-2730 4F) Side 3 -and (ZAL-2733 2K) Side 6 - both sides excellent, as with all four disc there is some very light spindle wear on the labels.
SXL 2090 (ZAL-2731 3E) Side 4 in excellent condition and (ZAL-2732 3F) Side 5 - small light mark running through the last part and into the run out band.
This set was originally owned by someone who performed the opera on stage and the booklet has been used as a reference and has quite a few creases and a bit of wear. There is a small amount of biro underlining of some of the text and the booklet generally is a bit 'thumbed'. It is complete but a bit worn.
The outer box has some light storage wear around edges but all corners intact and is still in very good condition. It may not be top grade, (but still excellent all the same) but a great opportunity to own such a stand out recording.
