CLIFFORD CURZON/VIENNA OCTET - The “Trout” Quintet ORIGINAL Decca LP SXL 2110 (UK, Stereo, 1959)
Happy to present an absolutely beautiful original copy of Curzon’s interpretation of the Schubert piano quintet on Decca wide band stereo.
The front laminated outer sleeve is in very pleasing condition with just very light handling and storage evidence as such: one ‘thumb’ crease to the front, one small crease to the opening edge, tiny bumps/creases to 3 of the 4 corners, very soft crease to the rear bottom left, light toning (not yellowing) to the rear white panel. NO edge wear, ring impression, writing, stickers, residue or splits, tears, scrapes. I think worthy of a TRUE EX- (Excellent Minus) if not full EX.
The wide band, stereophonic labels are virtually ‘as new’ with NO deterioration whatsoever. NO writing, stickers, dirt, foxing spots and not even any discernible spindle trails. The labels have the ‘Original Recording By’ at 10 o’clock on the outer rim of both sides - denoting I believe a very first edition.
The medium to heavyweight vinyl has to be seen to be believed! For a record which is celebrating its Golden Jubilee of 50 years this year, this is in an absolutely breathtaking state. There are NO marks of any kind - NO scratches, scuffs, hairlines, NO embedded dirt, dust pockets, bubbles or craters. Must visually grade M- (Mint Minus). IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays as it looks with near pure silence and full unhindered resolution. I heard NO snap, clicks, pops, hiss, not even any real crackle with only the minimum of surface in extreme quiet sections. Plays as good as you could hope - like it must have sounded on the day of purchase! Truly outstanding audio!!

A rare SXL in probably the best condition you will find it. Low start!
