SXL 2110 SCHUBERT Trout CURZON VIENNA Octet WBg ED 2
Schubert, Piano Quintet in A major, "The Trout".
Clifford Curzon and Members of the Vienna Octet (Willi Boskovsky, violin; Gunther Breitenbach, viola; Nikolaus Hubner, cello; Johann Krump, Double-Bass).Original UK pressed Decca Records stereo LP, SXL 2110.
Early wide band grooved black and silver label with "Made in England" perimeter lettering (edition two for this issue).
2D/2E matrix suffixes.
Vinyl in near mint condition. Just a very few light and wispy spider trace marks visible at centre spindle areas. Surfaces have a rich and bright gloss still and are free of any marks. Clearly a little and very carefully played LP. Playback is clean and free of crackle or ticks and is not distorted or groove damaged.
Labels are clean and undefaced.
Original "blue dot" inner sleeve is generally clean, unbrowned and without splits. One or two small closed tears and fairly creased however.
Exterior sleeve a strong EX. Bright and clean and free of sticker or pen marks. The rear of sleeve is black print on white (not a blue border issue) and still very clean. Features internal backflaps. Clean and unworn seams and spine. A small knock to bottom right hand corner, else tips also very well preserved.
A Note On Grading:Note that audio grading is subjective and based on sensitivity of equipment used for playback. In this instance playback has been tested on a vintage Technics Quartz Direct Drive SL1700 MKII turntable with Shure cartridge, Technics SU-C 03 amp and Technics SB-F2 Linear Phase speakers.
Also note that I generally do not clean vinyl unless so noted. Most vinyl will show improved playback quality with your preferred cleaning method, but I leave this to the prospective buyer, as controversy still surrounds the ideal method of cleaning vinyl.
