Richard Strauss: Herbert Von Karajan: VPO
(Decca SXL 2154 UK LP 1959)
This is a 1959 UK original ED1 Stereo LP pressing. It has a fully laminated sleeve which has rear flipbacks. It comes with its original polythene-lined company inner sleeve.
The record has wide band Decca labels which are grooved also. They have the "Original Recordings By" text. The record has 1st press -1C/ -1C matrix stampers.
The rear sleeve has a date "7'59" printed on the rear. This indicates that the sleeve was printed in July 1959. This is a genuine UK 1st pressing. These are not that common.
Sleeve: There is a 3 cm bit of wear to the bottom sleeve opening & flipback. There is some mild to more moderate wear to the corner tips. Mild ringwear & laminate creasing too. Good++ condition.
Vinyl: There are some light to mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. VG+ condition. The labels are very clean & show very mild spindle wear. Plays VG to VG+ overall. There is some light, or mild, crackle in some quieter passages. The inner sleeve is in Near EX condition.
Grading adheres to “Record Collector” specifications. I shall use good quality packaging (proper vinyl mailers & two card dividers).
Postage for 1 LP in the UK is £4.50. You can add one extra LP for free (up to the weight of 1kg).
Postage for 1 LP in Europe is £6.65 to £7.85 (depending on weight). Add £1.25 for each additional LP up to 2kg.
Postage for 1 LP for the rest of the world is £7.75 to £11.50 (depending on weight). Add £2 for each additional LP up to 2kg.
Insurance is necessary if this item exceeds £20. Overseas buyers will add £5.50 extra (plus an additional £2.50 if the item value exceeds £70).
