Description
Very rare Tchaikovsky – The Sleeping Beauty (Complete Ballet) x3 LP box set with booklet. 1st Decca stereo Wide Band grooved labels with ED1 ‘Original Recording By’ text.

1959 Decca Records (Cat.No.SXL2160/61/62) Condition: Box: Fair- / Discs: Vg+ / Ex / Vg+
The box is in fairly sorry state. All 4 corners are split, the top spine to the front is missing and the top spine to the back is hanging off. There is discolouration/foxing and scuffing to all spines. Amazingly the hinge is still intact. Overall graded as FAIR-.
Visually the discs would be graded Ex - Ex+.
On playing Side 1 is Ex with occasional background crackle noticeable in the quiet parts. Side 6 has a crackle to the opening 30 secs, then a further 4-5 pops/crackles midway through and occasional background crackle noticeable in the quiet parts and is VG. Overall graded as Vg+
Side 2 is Ex (as Side 1) as is Side 5. Overall graded as EX
Side 3 is Ex (as Side 1). Side 4 has approx 1 minute of continous clicks but i cannot see any visible reason for this and background crackle as before, graded as VG. Overall graded as VG+
As with all my records the discs have not been cleaned as i prefer to let the buyer choose their own method of cleaning. As such i am sure sound quality would be enhanced.
