Unaccompanied solo violin

Rare UK 1st pressing on the ED1 WBg Decca record label
with "ORIGINAL RECORDING" text. .

The catalogue number is SXL 2194 and was recorded at
The Victoria Hall, Geneva between 1-9 April 1959
and released in September 1960

To grade this record I have gone through each track in turn noting anything that is not perfect. If it plays with no background sound I will grade it as N/M otherwise no grading will be given and apart from the what is noted you can assume that the rest of that caprice also plays as N/M

There are NO major faults but general wear as listed below

There are 4 bands on each side so I am assuming that there are 3 caprices per band

Band 1 plays as N/M
No 1 ~ E major
No 2 ~ B minor
No 3 ~ E minor

Band 2
No 4 ~ C minor
No 5 ~ A minor - 3 pops
No 6 ~ G minor - some low level background noise

Band 3 plays as N/M
No 7 ~ A minor
No 8 ~ E flat major
No 9 ~ E major

Band 4 plays as N/M
No 10 ~ G minor
No 11 ~ C major
No 12 ~ A flat major

Side 2

Band 1 Plays as N/M
No 13 ~B flat major
No 14 ~ E flat major
No 15 ~ E minor

No 16 ~ G minor
No 17 ~ E flat major - some small crackle
No 18 ~ C major - some short lasting low level background noise

No 20 ~ D major - one pop caused by pressing dimple and couple of minutest crackles

This record has been stored for many years and would undoubtedly benefit from a professional clean
as there are some dull areas on the surface

The sleeve is one of those flimsy ones beloved of late 50's Decca and has stood up remarkably well over the last 50 years or so
No major problems with just general wear so expect a few line creases. No major ringwear issues with this one.
All the printing on the compressed spine is complete and legible. Overall EX

I am sure that the superb crystal clear reproduction, except where noted,
will please all discerning collectors except those who want an ABSOLUTE MINT copy of this rare item
