SXL 2223 HEAR ! Scallop 1M/1M Stampers NM- RARE Schumann Krips Sym 1 & 4 LSO
SOUND SAMPLE AUTO STARTED WHEN YOU OPENED THE PAGE,TURN UP THE VOLUME and have a READ .
PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING, AS THIS IS RARER THAN THE ONE YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE LOOKING AT.........
The reason ANY SXL pressing of this LP is rare is because........
it was deleted from Decca stocks before 1969 as I find no evidence of a Narrow band label ever issued, which was introduced by Decca in 1970 (ish) This brash statement is further supported by the fact it was issued onto the Ace of Diamonds "Budget Label " range as stock number SDD 157, and as the first of the SDD157 were grooved, therefore probably prior to 1967 when I think the groove was deleted. Well THERE is an interesting question. Anyone ever seen a Wide Band ed3 of sxl 2223 (therefore issued after 1967)?? (How about in Australia like this one on a flat no groove Orange label using ED1 Stampers? LOL!!)
USUALLY on re release to Ace of Diamonds, the SXL issue was discontinued (I think true for any SDD series upto at least SDD 193. which was issued close to 1969)
SO........ Here is a 1M 1M 1st stamper copy with Mother stamper 1C? on side 1 (see photo 8)
1M 1M stampers were usually found on the 1st issue SCALLOP flipbback WBG from the UK, if you haven't already realised it, THIS is an AUSTRALIAN Pressed SXLA 2223 (FLAT EDGE pressing which makes it very early off the Australian stamper) .
BY 1962 or thereabouts, all Australian pressings had the raised lip edge to stop needle fall and to aid groove protection sliding in and out of the cover.
NO Australian Decca SXL had a GROOVE, all flat, but all had Original recording at 10 O'clock even when UK had changed to "Made in England", (well Oz was made in OZ so they tell me, so we wouldn't change it would we)
COVER for those that might need a better one for their UK original lp is a genuine 1st print UK scallop flipback one seam re glued but very little if any rubbing to the front laminate very presentable !!).
Sound Sample is of about 2.5 minutes, of each side with a 20 second gap so I can flip the disc. , there are a ONLY A few very faint or fine paper scuffs, in bright sunlight only, nothing able to show in close up photo's, but this record has no effect from any small marks that are SUNLIGHT visible, all plays as same quality as this sample , As you can hear, very clean, the rest plays no worse than this.
This sound sample at a low resolution (192kbps) and full tone especially on computer speakers will not show, this is only to give an idea of how clean this record is, and even then there are some static crackles that you can hear due to the treble bias of the sample, that DO NOT sound on MY sound system.
Yes I have FULLY test played this , and it has been washed even though it was so clean straight out of the dust jacket. Indications are this may have very rarely been played, only one light rotational spindle trail I can see.
Summary rating DISC NM-Jjust a few light scuffing marks all non sounding.
UK FLIPBACK SCALLOP COVER VG+++ (dated 5.60) Odd rating I know, but its just a couple of creases in cover, THE RE GLUED BOTTOM FLIPBACK WITH OLD YELLOWED TAPE STAINS( TAPE GONE NOW) that keep this from NM see details below for Stamper numbers proving this is pressed from a first stamper.
SIDE A ZAL 3631-1M
Side B ZAL 3632-1M

IMPORTANT BULK POST RULES AS OF 22/OCT 2012
OZ POST JUST CHANGED ALL THEIR POST CHARGES AND PACKAGE WEIGHTS TO OVERSEAS
GOOD NEWS IS THEY MADE 1 LP CHEAPER TO POST, bad news is it is harder to get bulk discount until you have 3 or more LP's in the pack. If you only win one item I am happy to hold invoicing over until further auctions are won , or we find something to list at fixed price in your name to top up the package. With over 12000 lps in stock I am sure we will find something. Talk to me if you have any queries.
ITEMS are located in AUSTRALIA, see further down for Australia Post Rates to your destination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
USA buyers, due to recently enforced air security measures, please note if this is delivered to USA (or Territories) there is now a 9AUD (6GBP) handling surcharge PLUS the normal post charge (x ray search) so that is why postage to USA destinations is so expensive in the postage Tab!!!!
CANADA AND SOUTH AMERICA
WILL BE GBP13.55, THE USA INVOICE SHOWS EXTRA 6GBP SECURITY CHARGE RELEVANT ONLY TO USA AND TERITORIES
Australian buyers can pay in AUD,
UK Buyers BE AWARE !! Post limit of 4GBP as stipulated by ebay, (even for overseas sellers) GOOD NEWS!! unlike other sellers I will only charge the 4GBP to Post it to you BUT BAD NEWS..... It will arrive via the same method as if it was posted in UK, by SURFACE MAIL, and as that involves a slow ship via China and other indirect world zones it may take upto 3 MONTHS to get to you. There is an option on your UK invoice for Economy mail, which will be by Air Mail and therefore the regular 10-15 days, SO UNLESS you want to get it VERY SLOWLY.... I would strongly recommend paying the optional invoice amount of GBP15.90
Postage calculator NOT WORKING ACCURATELY when I live in Australia....... Item will be mailed from Australia, see list of world zones further below in description, for air mail rate from Australia, do not pay automated ebay invoice (IF ONE ARRIVES) until receiving adjusted postage invoice. Rest Assured I only charge the Air mail rate plus $2 for packing if invoice is under $100, over $100 PURCHASES get free PACKING AND BASIC INSURANCE !! That's this record of course, so invoices already reflect the reduced packing fee.

They include air mail rate(you pay) + free packing as thjis sale will exceed my free post category of sales in excess of 60GBP.
Every 250 gm (extra auction wins) added to this win or others only adds a further $8.75 to the UK/Euro zone, only $6.75AUD to USA etc, and just $5.50 for Asian zone, so extra LP's are cost effective

EUROPE (UK ETC) $19
UNITED STATES $16
ASIA (JAPAN AND CHINA) $14
AUSTRALIA $8.60
If you can get a cleaner sounding UK copy, for this money, I suggest you go buy it. Plays very cleanly, only the faintest of vinyl noise in this with normal RARE occasional tics, but not distracting. There is no loud music to mask any vinyl damage noise.
so here's a good way to get the music on a record that besides some random soft static like pops in quiet passages , has only paper scuffs in bright light . Both sides OCCASIONAL pops and tics especially in quiet passages nothing repetetive more than 2 quiet pips anywhere.
Rarely ever seen in Australia (THIS IS THE ONLY ONE I HAVE EVER SEEN, out of tens of thousands OF RECORDS INSPECTED!!!!!)
LP test played before any cleaning itwas so clean, Except for the VERY FEW QUIET PIPS as mentioned .The full recording has to be heard, so if you haven't already heard IT , vote now........
TRACK LIST

LP Condition (see Photo's). I am listening to it to test play as I write this listing.
only a couple of Rotational spindle marks, indicating it has been played rarely , Original plastic lined sleeve is undamaged,

Cover shows very minor ring embossing of top and bottom front laminate in angled reflective light only, all is visible in photo's. NO SEAM SPLITS, has re glued rear bottom flipback that was taped with yellowed sticky tape now removed just the yellow stain remains
Won't spend too much time (?) waffling so any specific questions please email me.

In other words I will not discount any stated sale price on Customs declarations as that is illegal.
No Reserve auction
TO BE PROPERLY INSURED, I WILL NOT UNDER DECLARE THE SALE PRICE OF THE ITEM,
I CAN ONLY INSURE BASED ON THE CUSTOMS DECLARATION STATED VALUE, PLEASE BE AWARE SHOULD YOU BE LIABLE FOR ANY CUSTOMS ON A SECOND HAND LP IN YOUR COUNTRY, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT PAYMENT (UK, Sth Korea, Germany and possibly Malaysia at least, probably more, has this problem I believe, )
In other words, buyers asking me to understate the customs declaration on this item need not bid, as I flatly refuse under international law to do so. (Last Buyer who did that gave neg feedback (it was retracted obviously) as they thought it was my fault they had taxes to pay(?????)

Winning bids unpaid after 7 days will be reported as non paying bidder and item opened to second chance offer.
HAPPY BIDDING, QUESTIONS WELCOME
