Description

Rare Beethoven Symphony No.2 in D Major, Op.36 and Overture Leonora No.2, Op.72a. L’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande conducted by Ernest Ansermet. Decca 1st Stereo pressing, ED1 wide band grooved. ‘Original recording by’ text. Comes with original inner sleeve.

1960 Decca Records (Cat.No.SXL2228). Condition: Cover: Vg / Disc: Vg

The cover has some wear to the top spine and to the top back flipback, therefore overall grading Vg.

The record has some surface marks none of which can be felt by lightly running a finger over them. Playing wise there is x1 tick/pop at the end of the 2nd movement (Side 1) and has x4 ticks/pops in the 4th Movement (Side 2). There a further few light/quiet crackles during the 4th movement. There is also the very occasional crackle during some quiet parts, but overall this plays well, grading Vg Please check out my other auctions as i am selling loads of other rare classical Lp's
