This is another sale from a my collection of classical records, which includes early stereo rarities on Decca, Columbia, HMV and RCA.


1962 UK stereo pressing on Decca records of SXL 2298, BRITTEN / DEBUSSY Cello Sonata in C#, Cello sonata in Dmin, with Rostropovich and Britten


This is a Decca wide band 1st label, grooved with "Original Recording By" at 10 O' clock  The matrix numbers engraved on the run-out are: ZAL-5296-3W & ZAL-5297-3W.  The outer sleeve is the original lightweight cardboard, non-flip-back, laminated on the front. 



Grading

Would grade side 1 visually as Excellent - two faint scratches that show under strong light and light spindle marks on label. Side 2 is Excellent Plus, just light spindle marks on label. It plays on my Linn Sondek virtually perfectly, no skips, jumps or repeated clicks. Some crackle in places,  particularly second last track on side 1. Sleeve is in excellent minus, its shows ring wear and marking on  back where record has been kept in sleeve. Some wear to opening of sleeve. 


Note that record will be posted in a cardboard record mailer. Sleeve will be in a plastic sleeve, separate from the record and inner sleeve. Record and inner sleeve will be in a card sleeve.
