MSTISLAV ROSTROPOVICH BRITTEN Sonata for Cello vinyl LP on DECCA SXL 2298 Wide band Rare 1962 pressing
I have acquired a large classical collection of wonderful recordings from a very keen and dedicated collector.
They are all mostly from the late 50s to mid 60s - Something of a Golden Age in Classical recordingAll records are inspected very carefully and
Gradings are based on Record Collector magazine.
I try to only offer recordings in a minimum of excellent Condition unless it is something particularly rare when I will do my best to describe any visual or audible flaws

First Edition pressing on DECCA Wide Band Grooved "Original Recording by "
Mstislav Rostropovich Cello with Benjamin Britten
Disc is visually Near Mint audibly plays Excellent with just the occasional very faint ‘tic” There is one small pop on the Britten Sonata and on the Schumann I could hear a few more more occasional 'Tics'
Sleeve is Excellent with just the slight impression of a small No 232 On the rear sleeve next to the title and a small mark where a sticker has been removed again towards the top edge of rear sleeve

The Britten Cello Sonata was written in 1960 inspired by Rostropovich and dedicated to him
The Schumann and Debussy pieces offer perhaps a more relaxed and lyrical side to the cello
Needless to say the playing is stunning - A First Edition of a rare and highly regarded recording
complimented by a laminated sleeve that unusually for a white sleeve shows very little wear for its vintage
You will be pleased to learn there is no reserve and a lowish starting price
