Herbert von Karajan (born Heribert, Ritter von Karajan; 5 April 1908 -16 July 1989) was an Austrian conductor. He was principal conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic for 35 years. He is generally regarded as one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century, and he was a dominant figure in European classical music from the mid-1950s until his death..

The album is on Decca Records, SXL 2305. Matrix side one: ZAL-5413-3E (stamped). Matrix side two: ZAL-5414-1E (stamped).
Released in 1962. UK pressing. Stereo.

Condition: (as Record Collector's grading system)
Vinyl side 1: excellent (has a few very light superficial marks that do not affect the audio in any way, plays great with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Vinyl side 2: excellent (has a few very light marks and a small light superficial scrape mark that do not affect the audio in any way, plays great with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Cover (front laminated, flip-back): very good (a few small laminate creases mainly around the edges, bit of laminate lift at top, very light aging on back).
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
