SXL 6023, Brahms PC, Curzon, Szell, WBg ED1 NEAR MINT
Brahms: Piano Concerto No.1.
Clifford Curzon with George Szell and the London Symphony Orchestra. UK pressed Decca stereo LP, SXL 6023, early first edition grooved wide band pressing with "Original Recording" perimeter lettering and 3G/4G matrices.A super copy of this one. Vinyl in excellent near mint condition. I cannot detect any marks around the spindle areas, and there are no marks on the vinyl surfaces. LP has clearly been looked after and both vinyl and labels still have a nice as new gloss to them.
Sleeve also in tip top shape. Clean, bright and uncreased. Tips and extremities are clean, crisp and without any wear at all. No seam splits. The spine is simply stunning, and like new. The white borders to front and predominantly white rear have retained their colour and there is no age browning. The original FFSS stereo inner liner is present and also in excellent and untorn condition.
Very hard to find any faults at all with this one. There is a very small crescent shaped handling crease mark near entry side, and there is just a HINT of storage rubbing to the top right hand corner of the front only, but this is so minor as to go unnoticed in normal usage. The backflap needs regluing, but only because of age deterioration to the gum, there is no damage. These are really the only things that keep this from being a perfect copy.
