33rpm vinyl LP Record of SXL 6209 Bartok Ravel PIANO CONCERTOS featuring Julian Katchen on piano with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Istvan Kertesz. It was issued on the Stereo DECCA wideband grooved label in 1966 with 'Made in England' in the 10 o'clock position. First UK pressing. Matrices 4L/5L.
The record itself is graded excellent, with the odd light surface mark visible under normal domestic lighting. Play-tested on an audio-technica turntable. Superb sound quality with a couple of pops a third of the way through Side 1 and another 3-4 a bit later, a little crackle towards the end of the side; Side 2 has a very occasional light pop/crackle - an excellent plus playback.
Minimal to no spindle wear. Labels very clean. No discernible spider marks.
The outer sleeve is graded very good with light handling and storage wear, light age toning and ring wear. The pinched spine is intact and strong with no loss to the lettering. The inner sleeve is very lightly age toned but has no splits or tears.
