Here’s a Really Nice Absolute first pressing of Syd Barrett’s second and final solo album, "BARRETT", on Harvest (released in 1970.) The front laminated sleeve is in Very Good Plus condition; The back cover trim is laminated not plain cardboard as in later issues.  There are no seam splits, no ringwear, light edgewear, creases can be seen in various places , and there is an upper left hand corner ding, and a bit of age discoloration mainly along the perimeter of the cover. Towards the bottom rt hand corner of the back cover there seems to be the owners name written.

This soft UK cover is actually cleaner than 75% of the first press covers you’ll ever see. Most are burdened with ringwear and splits and tears.

The first pressing disc, with –1G Stampers in the deadwax, and no EMI logo on the labels, is very clean as well.  I would rate the vinyl as Side One: NM-   Side Two  VG++.   The labels are pristine (see pics). Just beautiful.

The album was fully sound tested and in general sounds fantastic!  Powerful, crisp.  The opening track "Baby Lemonade" begins with surface crackle but after that passes the album is super strong with a full rich sound with great 1st press bass fidelity. Hardly any surface crackle detected thereafter.  The unique "fullness" of the sound to this particular 1st pressing is what distinguishes it from all other pressings. 

I once read a person's comment on this record and it was:

"This record is truly a masterpiece of psychedelic rock from the man who helped invent the genre."
