Syd Barrett The Madcap Laughs SHVL 765 A2G/B2G. Mothers/Stampers: G 1 / R 1
Record/Sleeve:
The first pressing slab of vinyl is still in great shape and one that I've loved having in the collection, but sadly I need the funds now. The record looks very very clean and has a great sheen. You have to get it into strong light to see any wear but there are no obvious scratches or marks just some very fine hairlines here and there. This is reinforced by the playback which is fantastic for such a quiet record. There is very little crackle evident, especially not when even the quietest tracks are playing. The vinyl grades conservatively as VG+ but playback is better!
The sleeve has some normal corner/edge wear but the spine text is undamaged! The only area where the lamination has come away is at part of the top edge and there is a little scuffing but other than that the front and back, plus inside look great, just the odd laminate creases. Again it grades a nice VG+
