Description
SYNANTHESIA
NO RESERVE!!
Artist/Title: SYNANTHESIA
Label/Catalog number: RCA VICTOR SF8058 - Stereo - Stampers: XGBS 0243-1/XGBS 0244-1 (For All you Matrix Numbers Buffs out there – I Would Imagine that there was only ever one pressing of this Elusive Gem!)
Year: 1969
Info: Ultra Rare Eponymous LP from UK Progressive Folkists. Typically British but Undoubtedly Influenced by the Sounds of the Time
Tracks:
Side One:
1) ’Minerva’ – (Could have been an out-take from ‘Their Satanic Majesties..’)
2) ’Peek Strangely and Worried Evening’- (Reminds me of Vivian Stanshall..)
3) 'Morpheus' – (Van der Graaf Hooks and sax with a Flamenco Finish..)
4) 'Trafalgar Square' – (Medieval Tullish Flautism)
5) 'Fates' – (Too many Harsh ‘S’ sounds in the lyrics mar this song)
6) 'The Tale of The Spider and The Fly' - (Early Floyd meets Zeppelin3 with Floyd finish)
Side Two:
1) 'Vesta' – (Now - Strangely - this reminded me of Joe Walsh)
2) 'Rolling and Tumbling' – (Best song on the LP - Walsh again - but of his collaborations with Joe Vitale circa ‘Rollercoater Weekend’)
3) 'Mnemoysne' – (Middle Eastern sound – Good use of Stereo with a Progressive 'Shimmer'!)
4) 'Aurora' – (Page-ish Rondular Guitar with lyric example ‘Mirror of Correction’ – Brill!)
5) 'Just As The Curtain Finally Falls' – (Sax rescues poor vocals and Lyrics on this one – a Psychedelic ending – and done…)
Condition:
Vinyl:- M- looks unplayed – The First Track on Side 1 and also on side 2 suffer from a few crackles at the start – this may be cured by a ‘clean’. Only a few further pops and crackles are evident upon the many Quieter moments of the rest of this Folk Based Cult Rarity
Labels: M - Pristine and Unmarked – no spindle 'trails' – please see pics
Cover: VG+ - A Very Clean Example – Front has creasing bottom right – 1 with laminate raise – also small creases and laminate raise left centre of bottom edge and top edge left. Top edge right has small laminate raise creases. Back is clean but does reveal slight imprint of the record stored inside. Record Entry edges are sharp and barely worn. This is a Very ‘Strong’ Cover upon a Rare Item. Certainly No Joints were ever Rolled on it!
Cover Overall: - Please see Pictures
