Description
This is an overall fine original stereo U.S. pressing copy of the sole LP by the Syndicate of Sound, released in 1966. From San Jose, California, just south of the Bay Area, the group are remembered for this LP's title track, a mid-'60s beat/folk-rock slab of misogyny that shot into the top ten. The LP is unusual for the period in that about half its songs are group compositions, including the hit. Among the covers are versions of Chick Berry's "Almost Grown," the Roy Orbison hit "Dream Baby," the R&B chestnuts "Big Boss Man" and "Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Baby?," and interestingly, Pacific Northwest legends the Sonics' "The Witch." The jacket has corner, spine, and seam wear, light ring wear on the front cover, light staining on the back cover, and light creasing along the spine on the front cover -- EX(-). The disc has some light scraping, scuffing, and loss of glossiness, and plays with light surface noise, occasional crackling, and a stray light pop (VG++).
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
