SYNTHESIS – Sentiments (1979) Ra Records – Strong VG+/EX (cover/vinyl)
Rare issue on the killer scarce Ra label, this spiritual free jazz session was recorded in 1976 and features Arthur Blythe on alto sax and percussion, Olu Dara on trumpet and piano, David Murray on tenor sax and percussion, Ken Hutson on bass and Rahsaan on drums and telephone bells. There are five mostly long cuts, including “Back from Where You Came,” “Flowers for Albert,” “Sentiments for the New World,” “A Woman Is Such a Lovely Being” and “Sentiments for the African Patriots.” Very deep jazz.
This is a really nice copy. The cover has slight ring wear (mostly on the front), a cut out hole in the top right corner, and a 3-inch seam split on the top seam from the jacket opening inward. The vinyl is super clean and glossy with only the faintest hint of any sleeve scuffs. I grade this conservatively Strong VG+/EX (cover/record).
This is an original pressing. I do not sell modern reissues
