Description
Henryk Szeryng: Jean-Sebastien Bach's 3 Sonates et 3 Partitas pour violon seul.
Extremely rare box set (Odeon ODX 122 . 123 . 124) of Szeryng's first version of this work and Academie Charles Cros first prize for best recording of the year 1955.
Red and silver label (first edition with heavy vinyls), in double sleeve (paper and cardboard), plus small leaflet with text (French only) by Marc Pincherle.
The box is VG++: All corners are still very solid and you'll notice some slight shelf wears on the cover; there's also some discoloration on top (please see scan). Leaflet is NM (like new). All three double sleeves are like also like new. The paper ones are still very crisp and very clearly were very rarely manipulated. No spindles marks on the labels.
LPs # 123 & 124 are NM. LP # 122 has 2 very light hairlines that I have tested and they have no effect on the sound.
Because of the value of the set, it will only be sent via airmail, with tracking number and full insurance. I have also put a reserve price on the set.
