Description
Words cannot describe how good this record is. On paper, it does not sound promising - ex-singer from almost unknown Boston band Front Page Review records a solo LP of short songs with a bunch of session musicians - but somehow this worked out so well, it is one of the best records of the late 60's. Side A takes a political stance, with extracts from the 1968 Republican Convention and the Democratic Convention riots inter-woven into the music. Side B is just good songs, with Steve Cataldo's vocals taking on something of a Jim Morrison quality. Throughout the whole LP, the playing is outstanding, and the lead guitarist and drummer seem to be having a fantastic time. The drum fills in particular have a joyous quality. This is one of those records that works on all levels, and still sounds as good today.
This is an original pressing, not the recent re-issue.
