Description
Up for auction is rare lacquer press of the Sammy Benskin Trio’s “ROSETTA”. This seems to have been pressed around 1946.
The only marking anywhere on the disc is BN 251. The record is a 12” and plays at 78rpm. It is single sided. There are some scuff marks at the beginning but they do not reach the grooves. Disc was cleaned and sleeved in a MOFI inner sleeve. Record plays VG with only the slightest of surface noise. No skips are visible nor were any heard during play.
There is not a lot of info on this piece anywhere online. A good source tells us that this was eventually released as BN 522 but BN 522 does not include the song ROSETTA.
The only vinyl pressing ROSETTA that we found was on Mosaic Records in 1986 on a compilation.
Sorry we don’t have any more info on this press.
