(LATE NOTE!  Sorry in advance, or retrospect, or whatever.  After I listed this, I had a feeling something was missing.  Now no one has asked any questions about this listing.  Too bad, I would like some input myself!  But as time has elapsed, I had a feeling someone might ask a question to which I can unfortunately state ahead of time.  No, I am afraid I do not have the technology, nor access to such, to be able to provide a mp.3 or a soundbyte of this record.  Trust me, I know this does not assist in trying to sell this item.  My apologies.)


 Greetings one and all to the iffiest ebay listing I've posted to date!  All are welcome here!  Bidders, I thank you graciously in advance if you do appear!  Lookers, readers, stalkers (you know I love you guys!) and to anyone who decided to stop by and see what this is all about, I bid thee welcome as well!

This time up...you know, I'm not really sure what it is.  I can tell you it is a 45 by Sammy Hawks and the Satisfactions, on the Greensboro, North Carolina Stag label. Not to be confused with the label by the same name which has all the "naughty humor" on it.  Nope, this one is a small NC label, and after doing some cursory digging on this 45, artist, and label, I came up with practically nothing.  The titles on this 45 are "You Don't Know Like I Know" b/w "Day Tripper", which is probably yet another cover of the Beatles.  Hmm, maybe I shoulda cross-listed this with a Fab4 (Pete Best rules) sub-header.  Anyways, the label is Stag Records, and the label # is CSS-802.  I have not played this 45, I just came across it recently in a box of records I can't for the life of me remember how, or where it was from.  But it looks different. In all the 16+ years i've worked in a record store, I've never seen it before, but the internets are telling me it's a small label "Carolina/Southern" soul 45.  I will tell you that this 45 has seen better days.  Yes, it is plenty scratched and worn, but  I do believe it is playable.  Some soul collector out there will probably snag this, do some digital-remastering, then remove the label, so none of the other soul djs will know who or what it is, so they can get bragging rights.  Right soulies?  Yeah, I know all abouthow you people operate.  Don't think you're getting over on me.  This is not in good condition, and I am starting the bidding low, so if you overbid, yeah, you will have something scarce that your peers (as if you'd ever admit they are your equal,  like i said, I know you people!)don't have.  This isn't so much for the music quality, it's for bragging rights.  Even though this 45 doesn't have any of your usual soul collector buzzwords in the artist or title.  Those words which make the moisture start to flow in soul collectors?  Soul, funk, funky, ghetto, village, harlem, chocolate, fantastic, dynamic, velvet, or anything to do with climate/emotion/vehicles/food (preferably soul food), or the political situation of the early 70s, if it's on the name of the artist or title-soul collectors will leave a trail of knives in backs-so it's easy to see where they've been. 
But---they do pay well.  Well, I suppose I shall see.  Like i said, this is not at all in good condition, I will give it my V.  My grading folks, not the overblown "G*ldmine standard", please see below.

In case anyone's wondering, here is my scale for grading.  M - Mint.  Reserved for still factory sealed.  N- Near Mint, opened, no marks whatsoever.  E+, no marks other than a smudge that i'm too lazy to clean.  E, a light mark or 2, probably won't affect play. (why "probably"?  Because everyone claims their hearing is better than the next persons'.) E-, marks or wear that will cause a little audible affectation.  V+, wear that will cause some distortion of some type.  V, V-, P, well, you get the picture.

So, since I really don't have any information about this band nor the label outside of what I posted earlier, and the condition is not good at all, eventhough it might be rare...I will still start the bidding low.  Go ahead, fault me there!

All items I sell will be sent with a copy of the sale form, printed up from eBay.  I will not "mark item as a gift", just so you can evade import rules.  The people at my post office know me, and they will check overseas packages for inspection.  If you cannot comply with that, please do not bid.

Also, international bidders, the price listed for postage on my listings are for domestic mailing.  I wish I could send overseas for that price, but reality speaks different.  I place a fair price on all international postage.  Watch for the invoice if you win.

All items that are sent to a U.S. address will have delivery confirmation (at my cost) attached, as I have found that it helps...a lot!....to ensure that packages are truly en route to the customer.  This is for both of our sakes.  I will be using USPS "Media Mail" as my primary shipping method, however, if needed, and for an extra charge, I can ship with "Priority Mail", and if i can get away with it for the price, I really like 1st Class, but that's weight-dependent.

Oh yes, if you are the winning bidder, and you are in the Commonwealth of Virginia, I'm afraid you are going to have to fork over the 5% Virginia State Sales Tax.
