Original mono Liberty copy of the jazz and rock-and-roll soundtrack music to the hot rod movie Hot Rod Rumble. Cool, atmospheric jazz band heavy on the mid-range horns and woodwinds. Condition:
Disk: VG- on both sides. Record is glossy, but there are a many fine surface marks on both sides, and dozens of little lozenge-shaped surface marks on side two that are ugly but have surprisingly little effect on playback. Both sides play a very nice VG, with unobtrusive light ticks and pops in the background, but only a few louder pops on each side. Nice dynamic sound with plenty of ambience and a meaty mid-range. Play-graded.
Labels: VG+. Turquoise with silver print and a silver ring. A few spindle marks on both sides. Not deep groove.
Sleeve: G. This cover is an odd duck within my grading scale -- my first impulse was to grade it at VG-, but my rules on seam splits require a G. It looks nice, and would be a solid VG if not for the fact that both the top seam and the spine have substantial splits. Despite the splits they have suffered lots of fraying and edge-wear. Just clean splits of the paste-over slick that was holding the cardboard together.

Grading scale (disk):
M: Sealed, as new
NM: Opened, no signs of age or wear
EX: Only the very slightest signs of visual age or wear. Playback is nearly flawless with only the occasional unobtrusive light tick a few times per side.
VG+: No more than 5 light surface scuffs, none of them causing obtrusive noise during playback. Playback sounds great, with only a few unobtrusive ticks per side, and only the very faintest of background noise audible during silent passages. No sign of groove wear or dullness
VG: Several light surface marks and scratches visible, but nothing that can be felt when you run your fingernail along the groove. Light ticks and pops audible throughout, but not an overwhelming barrage. A few louder popping noises allowed per side, but nothing terribly intrusive.
VG-: The surface has lots or surface marks, or has only one or two feelable scratches per side. Plays without skipping. Surface noise is noticeable during quiet passages. There might be several obtrusive pops and ticks per side. Some signs of groove wear, but still a pleasure to listen to.
G: Pops, ticks and noticeable surface noise throughout, but still playable, and without too much dullness groove wear. Plays without skipping.
F: Dull from heavy groove wear. Might also be a nice sounding copy that skips forward one or two times per side. I will sell only extremely rare records in this condition.
Note: Grading of disk is visual grading only unless "Playgraded" noted in description. All feelable (or otherwise suspicious) scratches are spot-checked to check whether they cause skips.
Grading scale (sleeve);
M: sealed in shrink wrap
NM: look like it was just taken out of the shrink-wrap and barely handled
EX: Like NM, but one minor corner flaw or very faint shelf wear on the bottom seam allowed.
VG+: Nice, crisp cover with only the faintest ring-wear visible. No more than two of the following flaws: Corner crease, sharp surface crease, light shelf wear on a seam, very tight seam split of less than one inch, neat unobtrusive writing on the back cover.
VG: Ring wear is more noticeable. Surface might have an overall dullness. Up to five of the flaws listed in VG+ above. One or two seams might be heavy shelf-worn.
VG-: Seams and spine are very worn. Corners might be collapsed. One seam might have a split of 4"-8". Cover might be wavy from moisture, but shows no other signs of water damage.
G: One more seams are completely split. Seams and spine are trashed. Some water damage might have caused discoloring and flaking on the bottom portion of the cover. Cover still looks good from the front.
F: Cover is intact, but might have obtrusive tears or heavy writing on the front. Corners are heavy creased, torn, or chewed on. Extensive flaking and waviness from moisture damage over much of the cover.
P: Nasty
