Description
Black label with silver text, deep groove. The striking cover depicts a collage of jazz night clubs the aexisted in the center of Chicago in the mid-'50's. The record is a compilation of 9 tracks by legendary Chicago jazz musicians of that period. 2 tracks with Sandy Mosse, tenor sax; Jimmy Gourley, guitar; Eddie Baker,piano; Leroy Jackson, bass; Dorrell Anderson, drums. 1 track with Ira Schulman, tenor sax; Dave Mulholland, trumpet, same rhythm section as mentioned. 2 tracks with Mosse 1st tenor solos followed by Ira Schulman, tenor sax, same rhythm section. 1 track features only Schulman with Gourley and the same rhythm section. 1 track with Schulman and the same rhythm section and 2 tracks with just the rhythm section. 1 track with Mosse and the rhythm section. Recorded in Chicago in 1956. Notes by Jack Tracey; supervised by Joe Segal. Great performances with saxes playing the style influenced by Lester Young. Very rare.

Record: Mint(-) Visually shows no wear. The record has an unplayed appearance. Except for a very few, light clicks, no surface noise. Moderately heavy vinyl pressing. Fine collectable quality. Audibly checked.
