Description
For sale is Santana's Abraxas, originally released in 1970 by Columbia Records, made in Germany and imported into the U.S. in a gate-fold presentation. This is a reissue on 180 gram virgin vinyl by the Audiophile Record Service or ARS. This is generally regarded as the best sounding reissue of this classic album and has become very scarce. In the dead wax between the label and the last track are matrix numbers 1-C/1-G, signifying that an early stamper was used for this first pressing. This results in superior sound quality and is highly sought after by collectors. I bought this used and played it carefully on a reference quality turntable and cartridge. One of the first things I do with a new purchase is that I immediately put the album into a protective inner sleeve like a MFSL archival inner sleeve or its equivalent. Doing this protects the integrity of any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have originally come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve or poster with this listing. The cover is Excellent with some very minor corner rubs, ring wear and stress cracks around the edges. The spine is Near Mint. The vinyl is Excellent with faint sleeve marks but plays as Near Mint. This is the best copy of this record that I have ever seen or heard. You would be hard pressed to find a copy in this condition, being that it has become hard to find. I have more Latin albums, as well as records of all genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look, as they're almost all in Near Mint condition. Thank you for viewing my listing. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
