Notes: Santana takes a further progressive turn with this album, their sixth following “Welcome”, taking a sharper turn in the jazz-fusion oriented direction. Track A6 “Aspirations” is very mindful of Soft Machine material !! Track B5 “Promise Of A Fisherman” has Carlos soaring notes that sound like his fingering is off the fretboard and directly over the pickups!! No hits from this incredible album!!
Drummer Micheal Shrive returns on tracks A3, A4, A5, B1 & B2. Bassist Stanley Clark appears on tracks A6, B3, B4 & B5.
