A rhythmic, melodic blend of Latin rock and early '80s pop-rock. Shangó (or Shango) is the name of a powerful Orisha (deity) in Yoruba religion. He is the god of thunder, fire, drumming, and dance — themes that match Santana’s rhythmic intensity and Afro-Latin musical roots.
This album blends: Latin percussion Electric guitar solos from Carlos Santana Pop melodies and synths typical of early '80s production Spiritual references are woven throughout, both in lyrics and in musical homage 🎧 Fans of Santana’s earlier jazz-fusion phase (Caravanserai, Welcome) may find Shangó more radio-friendly, but it still retains his signature fire and spiritual undertone.
