Sarasate Carmen Fantaisie Ruggiero Ricci UK Decca SXL 2197
Ruggiero Ricci with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Pierino Gamba performs the Bizet-Sarasate “Carman Fantaisie”, Sarasate’s “Zingeunerweisen”, and Saint-Saens “Havanaise” and “Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso”. An English stereo pressing on the Decca Label (SXL 2197 stampers 1E/2E) the labels Made in England by… at 10 o’clock, a full frequency stereophonic sound fatband and ffss logo and a groove. The record is of excellent appearance, and plays and sounds superb (spectacular recording) with only occasional surface noise. The cover laminate has rubbed with a ring.
