Scandalous John, Buena Vista
Here's a rare Disney record released in 1971 by Disney's Buena Vista distribution arm.
It's the radio spots campaign record featuring commercials to promote the new Disney film, Scandalous John, starring Brian Keith in his last Disney film in a long career that started with Ten Who Dared, The Parent Trap, Moon Pilot, Savage Sam, A Tiger Walks, Tenderfoot, and Those Calloways, among others.
This film was notable because it featured the songs and music by Rod McKuen.
Rod McKuen is pictured, along with the logo for the film are on the paper label.
The one-sided record has different commercials in length, 55 seconds down to 10 seconds, all of which were meant for movie theater managers to take this to local radio stations to buy airtime for use as commercials to promote the film's release at their local theater.
The last cut on the record is McKuen singing the main song from the soundtrack, "Pastures Green."
Most of these Disney radio spots usually contain snippets of soundtrack and music elements from the film.
