We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow.

Nice clean & rare 1973 First Press with grainy delicate UK manufactured cover - far better visuals than the cover issued in the USA. -
Rediscover this gem, sounding far more cohesive than it did when first released and so much being created in the early '70s "Wizard's Brew" tended to be over looked!
Well regarded ripe with melody rich raucous edgy-gritty rock ...couldn't be better described than from two fans recommendations as follows:

It was a struggle to get my copy at a decent price (why is it that any of Roy Wood's material is so hard to find these days?) but when the chance came I took it and I'm quite happy with the results. Recorded shortly after taking almost half of Electric Light Orchestra with him, this is a daring collection of songs played with bombast and determination. With a greater emphasis on grinding guitar riffs, blowing reeds and slightly less cello, Roy Wood called back former Move bassist Rick Price to join him in creating a group that was a merge of hard rock with traces of jazz, classical and old stripped-down Rock and Roll (and anything else they could manage to throw in). "WIZARD" were a shining example of the duality of the group. When first released, it contained NONE of the singles and B-Sides the group had created, in a strange effort to distance themselves from the "Pop-rock" success they'd shared. Maybe it wasn't the best move since those pop songs kept them on the charts and on the radio and to purposely not include them on the LP makes no real sense? Still, this release rectifies that by including all of those hit singles would have cut into the sonic experiments of the this album.
"You Can Dance Your Rock 'N' Roll" kicks off the album as a spirited rocker with heavy guitars and blowing winds before cutting into "Meet Me At The Jailhouse" which is where the jazzy element comes in and it gets out there in a hurry. Still, I think it works as a mini Epic of sorts with it's breakneck time changes and blasting backing lines. Another strong cut is "Buffalo Station/Get on Down to Memphis" which is more a send-up of classic Rock and Roll, albeit with Roy Wood's musical A.D.D. thrown in. Also included is a near doo-wop number in "Gotta Crush (About You)" before closing the original album with "Wear a Fast Gun" which is a sonic counterpart to the ELO classic "Whisper In The Night". Overall WIZARD's work is sadly under-appreciated. Please rectify the underestimated unknown by getting this album and most any other record by Wizard that you can get your hands on. Trust me, it's worth the effort!

'This is actually one of the early seventies' most bizarre albums. Wizzard, featuring Roy Wood, had been formed upon Wood's departure from The Electric Light Orchestra and they had cut their reputation on some killer singles in "Ball Park Incident" , the massive number one, "See My Baby Jive" and the "Wall Of Sound" of "Angel Fingers" (which also featured on "See My Baby Jive"). This album was eagerly awaited from a group who were now incredibly popular with England's teen market (such as myself). Roy Wood let his considerable hair down here, and created a weird and wonderfully eclectic melting pot, with guitars combined with reeds and cellos, to produce a cacophonous menu that includes rock 'n' roll on various levels!
This album was certainly a big change when compared to Roy Wood's more familiar hit single formula, and was a big shock for many of his fans, but after a listens we ALL soon fell in love with it. The second track "Meet Me At The Jailhouse" opens with a powerful guitar riff before confronting the listener with a pair of dueling sax's.
The next track certainly caught me off guard when I first heard it, opening with sgt major-style barked orders, we are then in the midst of a Sousa influenced march, with the 2-minute "Jolly Cup Of Tea".
If most fans of the album had to pick a favorite track it would have to be "Wear A Fast Gun", a slower composition with a melancholy feel, which features a lovely verse and chorus, the closing stages of this 9-minute track features a verse of "Abide With Me".
On first listen, this album may sound a bit too raucous and off the wall, but with repeated playback you should can find it all comes together to produce a very rewarding listening experience, which we've been enjoying since first hearing back in 1974.
