Conducted by the great Sir Georg Solti and often described as the greatest classical recording of all time, this rare Decca presentation set includes four boxed operas in separate slipcases, all in a heavy cardboard presentation case.
Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the Nibelung) is a cycle of four epic operas (or "dramas" to use the composer's preferred term) by the German composer Richard Wagner (1813–83). The works are based loosely on characters from the Norse sagas and the Nibelungenlied . The four dramas, which the composer described as a trilogy with a Vorabend ("preliminary evening"), are often referred to as the Ring Cycle, Wagner's Ring, or simply the Ring.
Wagner wrote the libretto and music over the course of about twenty-six years, from 1848 to 1874. The four operas that constitute the Ring cycle are, in sequence:
? Das Rheingold (The Rhine Gold)
? Die Walküre (The Valkyrie)
? Siegfried
? Götterdämmerung (Twilight of the Gods)

Each vinyl LP comes in its original poly-lined paper Decca company sleeve and each opera comes with an explanatory booklet.
The albums are in excellent to near mint codition. The inner sleeves are all very good and the explanatory booklets are in excellent condition.
The inner boxes are in good clean condition with only light shelf wear, although the main slipcase has some wear to the front and edges as can be seen in the photographs. This rare box set is offered at a low starting price, so enjoy bidding and good luck!

This box set weighs 5kg so postage by Parcelforce 48 will cost £12.98. Cheaper couriers are available, such as Hermes, but their delivery times are longer. International costs will obviously be higher.
