The record shows only two or three faint surface marks,scuffs not scratches, that cannot be felt. There are only a few signs of spindle marks, although hard to make out on this pale label, so looks to have been rarely played. There is a small area that must be a pressing fault near the beginning of Side 2. I have played this side and it has only the slightest affect, just a very slight sound, not a click or pop, in the background, barely noticeable. There are only a handful of ticks during the rest of side, but they are nothing to do with the pressing fault. Because of this I will grade it at VG+ but it mostly plays much better than this grade.
There is hardly a mark on the laminated front and the back has only a crease on one of the flipbacks – the unlaminated back is clean and bright, barely discoloured at all. Only at the top and bottom front edge is there the beginnings of splits at the opening. Very minor, half an inch or so, and easily repairable.
I have a collection of 250+ classical LPs that I will be putting up on ebay over the next weeks. There are many rare items. Many SXL - ASD - SAX - RCA Living Stereo and other recordings, mostly original pressings. There are many sought after artists and conductors; Ida Haendel - Ruggiero Ricci - Campoli – Milstein- Furtwangler - Argenta - Kogan and others.
There is no way I can listen to all of these LPs. I will describe the records as exactly as I can and, in the case where I can see anything I would consider to be an issue with the vinyl, ie something that is very noticeable, I will play at least the affected part of that item and report the results. In describing them I will grade them as carefully, visually, as I can. If there are any issues I have missed they will be very small, as I will be looking at them carefully in bright light, with a critical eye. I do not guarantee they will be completely free of the occasional pop or click. However, I would expect that a good clean would improve the playback if there are any. Please bear in mind that these early Stereo pressings are 50 to 55 years old and will have accumulated some dust and dirt, however carefully they were kept. Also please bear the above in mind when bidding, Basically, I will try to describe them as carefully as if you were looking at them in a shop.
