Scrapbook 1927 - 1940's Frankie Gould band leader Long Beach Ca. 43 pgs + photos Frankie Gould's band were active playing in the south coast area of California. He played the Crystal Ballroom on a regular basis and also played at the Santa Catalina Ballroom on the  island, as well as many other venues. Gould had his own boat for the voyages to Catalina, Photos in the scrapbook. about 20 pages of clippings, 15 8" x 10" original photos 1927 - 1940's plus 14 photos smaller format.  Letter from City of Long beach April 4, 1933 thanking Gould for playing at various "refugee camps at parks during the earthquake emergency. Long Beach suffered a very violent quake then. Letter from Santa Catalina Island Company congratulating Gould "for your very earnest efforts toward making the Crystal Roof Ballroom excursion one of the largest and finest events held at Catalina."   Important historical property regarding dance bands in Southern California in the 1920's through 1940's
