Description

Screamin' Jay Hawkins. A Nite at Forbidden City. Sounds of Hawaii Records(SHS 5015). 1963.

Part of Hawaii's famed burlesque history was Forbidden City a Strip Club, Stage Act & Music venue. Screamin' Jay Hawkins came here and married a local girl(who plunged a knife into his chest, subsequently divorced) and plied his act there in the early 60's. Here's an album of the antics, music, comedy and dramatics that only Screamin' Jay brought to a nights activity. Screamin' Jay Hawkins is joined by Shoutin' Pat, Dee Dee McNeil and The Soul Sisters and the great local percussionist Augie Colon. 

Condition: Cover Rated NA record housed in generic White sleeve, comes with quality medium gloss facsimile heavy weight paper replicated cover on two sheets, looks great//Record 5 or VG+ plays OK with surface marks.
